Felted Diagonal Purse.

 
 
 

 SIZE: Approx 12”x10” when felted.

MATERIALS: - 2 balls (Approx 200 m) of Noro KUREYON or any felting worsted weight pure wool.
                           6.5mm needle
                          1 set of purse handles.

GAUGE : The purse will be very loosely knit before felting. Gauge is not important for this project.

DIRECTIONS:
Cast on 68 sts.
1st Row: K1, Increase in the next st. Knit to the last 3 sts. K2tog. K1
2nd Row: Purl
Repeat Rows 1&2 until there is 3 yds of yarn left.

Cast off loosely.

With right sides together, sew cast-on edge to cast-off edge then fold in half and sew one of the side seams together to form the bottom of the bag.

Felting instructions: Place bag in a zippered pillow cover and wash in machine using very hot water for wash(add a kettle of boiling water if your hot water heater is set at a low temperature) and cold water for rinse. Add an old pair of sneakers or some towels to help with agitation. When spin cycle is complete remove purse from pillow cover and block to size, pressing out any creases and folding the top edge to the inside 1-1 ½”. (You can return it for another washing following the same directions as above if you want it more felted.) Using strong sewing thread, sew down the folded top edge and attach handles to the inside of the bag and fasten with magnetic snap (available at Michaels.)
